Latin America

This region has demonstrated strong growth across all its businesses: branded generics, prescription drugs, over-the-counter products and medical devices in Mexico, the Andean region, Central America, the Caribbean and Brazil. Valeant also exports out of Mexico to other Latin American markets.

Branded generics – high quality and affordable medicines – are a key product in this region. In Mexico they are mainly marketed to physicians and pharmacies under Grossman and Tecnofarma – well-known local brands with strong reputations for quality.

The product portfolio in this market covers a broad range of therapeutic classes, including vitamin deficiency, antibacterials and dermatology. Valeant’s largest product in this market is Bedoyecta®, a brand of vitamin B complex products.

In Brazil, Valeant manufactures and markets branded generic products, as well as marketing a line of OTC sports nutrition products and other food supplements.

The region also offers manufacturing facilities with internal capabilities to produce injectables, oral solids, topicals and liquids, as more than 800 manufacturing employees produce some 30 million units annually.
